Juvenile Detention Center Visitation Guidelines

If your child is being held in juvenile detention in Las Vegas there are specific visiting hours and guidelines that are important to be aware of before your visit.

Only parents or legal guardians are allowed to visit a child being held in juvenile detention in Las Vegas. Visitors are not allowed to wear tank, halter, or crop tops as well as short shorts when visiting a Las Vegas juvenile detention center. Visitors who are intoxicated or under the influences will be denied to visit their child. No visitor under the age of 18 is allowed in the Las Vegas juvenile detention center waiting area. No visitor under 21 years of age is allowed on the Las Vegas juvenile detention center campus, no matter what the relation. Visitors are not permitted to bring in any items during visitation.  Any visitor who violates the rules of the Las Vegas juvenile detention center will lose future visitation or phone call privileges.

All medication and medical supplies must be approved and given to the nursing staff. Parents and guardians are allowed to drop of medications to Detention Administration, or to intake during non-business hours.  Medications must be in the original prescription bottle with the youth’s name and dosage. All other items, like soaps or eye care,  must be approved as well.

Detention clothing is provided to all youth.  Shoes can be provided also, or parents can choose to bring in tennis shoes.  The tennis shoes must be solid black, solid white, or black and white only.  No other colors anywhere. Shoes must be approved.

Juveniles being held in the juvenile detention center Las Vegas are allowed to call their parents, legal guardians or attorneys at designated times  All mail must come through the US Postal Service and will not be accepted during visitation.
